Richard D. Gardner is licensed by the Texas Funeral Service Commission as a Funeral Director and Embalmer, a Certified Celebrant trained by the Insight Institute, and is a Certified Crematory Operator.
Richard and his wife Rebecca (also a Funeral Director and Embalmer) purchased Lowe Funeral Home from Dwayne Lowe in March of 2021 to keep the tradition of family-owned funeral service in Wood County available to those in need in our area.
Richard was born and raised in Southeast Texas and has served as a funeral director since 1992. After attending Sam Houston State and his service in the United States Army, he attended and graduated with honors from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service. Richard is a member of the Quitman Rotary Club, American Legion Post 296 in Mineola, National Funeral Directors Association, and Texas Funeral Directors Association.
The Gardners have three children: Tambrey, Isaac, and Veda. Richard and his family enjoy many community activities, traveling, and especially family time at their home in rural Wood County.

Heather serves as the Managing Director of Lowe-Gardner Funeral Home and has been an integral part of the team since 2016. Known for her steady leadership and genuine compassion, she brings both professionalism and heart to every family she serves.
Originally from Paris, Texas, Heather moved to Quitman during elementary school and proudly graduated from Quitman High School in 2009. She continued her education at Tyler Junior College before earning her Associate of Applied Science in Funeral Service from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 2015.
Heather is a licensed Texas Funeral Director and Embalmer, a licensed pre-need agent, and also assists families with monument selections. She is deeply committed to providing thoughtful, personalized care, guiding families with confidence and grace through some of life’s most difficult moments. Creating meaningful, personalized services that truly reflect each life is where she excels, and she takes great pride in helping families honor their loved ones in ways that feel authentic and lasting.
She is dedicated to continued education and professional growth, regularly attending ICCFA programs, Emerging Leaders conferences, and numerous other funeral service trainings. Through this ongoing commitment, Heather strives to remain at the forefront of her profession while also helping educate and serve her community with knowledge and care.
Beyond her professional role, Heather is devoted to her community. She is a member of the Quitman Pilot Club and serves as a Chamber Ambassador for the Quitman Chamber of Commerce, where she enjoys building relationships and supporting local initiatives.
Heather is married to Carson Turner, and together they own and operate Turner’s Land Management. They are proud parents to two children, Zane and Camilla. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time supporting her children in all they do, from soccer and T-ball to dance. You will often find her on the sidelines assisting her husband as he coaches Zane’s soccer team. The Turner family also includes their two Dalmatians, Sasha and Otis, who keep life at home fun and lively.

His connection to funeral service began in his teenage years, when he first started working around the funeral home and developed an early respect for the profession. After graduating, he attended the University of Texas at Tyler and went on to build both his career and life in the community he cares deeply about. Years later, he returned to the funeral home in a part-time role, eventually joining the team full-time in 2017. Continuing his dedication to the field, Jeff graduated from Northeast Texas Community College in May 2025 and earned his Texas Funeral Director’s license.
Jeff is a licensed Funeral Director, a certified Crematory Operator through CANA, and holds his ICCFA Cremation Arranger certification. He oversees the crematory with exceptional attention to detail and unwavering standards, ensuring every step is handled with the highest level of care, dignity, and professionalism. His commitment to excellence behind the scenes provides families with confidence and peace of mind during an important part of the process.
He is especially known for his expertise in monument sales, where his knowledge, patience, and eye for detail truly set him apart. Jeff takes great pride in helping families design lasting tributes that are both meaningful and timeless, guiding them through the entire process. Whether selecting materials, refining design details, or ensuring every element is just right, he is dedicated to creating memorials that stand as lasting reflections of a life well lived.
Deeply rooted in Quitman, Jeff is dedicated to serving his community in every way he can. He is a member of the Quitman Lake Fork Kiwanis Club and regularly lends his time and support to Myrtle Springs Cemetery and Rock Hill Cemetery when needed. He and his family are members of Myrtle Springs Baptist Church, and he also serves as a board member for Quitman City Cemetery.

She previously served on boards such as Women’s Center of East Texas, Wood County Child Welfare Board, Wood County Protection Board, Court Appointed Special Advocate, Critical Incident Stress Management Team, and advisor on Longview Police Department Explorer program, Tyler’z Toys and Sheepdog Haven.
When she is looking to relax and reflect, she loves to write, paddleboard or find any opportunity to open her children up to new experiences.

She and her husband, Mo, have been married for over 30 years, and are faithful members of the North Tenneha Church of Christ in Tyler, TX. Together, they have 3 children and 12 grandchildren.

Justin has one son, Zachary, and proudly embraces his role as a “band dad,” always ready to lend a hand and cheer his son on at competitions and performances. In his free time, Justin also enjoys playing drums.

Kylan serves part-time at Lowe-Gardner Funeral Home while pursuing his education in the Funeral Service program at Northeast Texas Community College. His introduction to our team came through his studies, where his passion for serving others began to take shape.
Homeschooled through most of his academic career, Kylan graduated in 2024 and felt called to a profession rooted in compassion and care. Inspired by his father, Jeremy—a minister at the Mineola Church of Christ who has supported many families through funerals—Kylan witnessed firsthand the comfort and dignity that meaningful service can bring during difficult times. This experience solidified his desire to work in the funeral profession.
Kylan lives in Grand Saline and is an active member of the Mineola Church of Christ. In his spare time, he enjoys listening to music, sketching, running, and spending time with his family and his dog, August.

Lisa DuBose has been part of the Lowe-Gardner Funeral Home team since 2021, assisting with evening visitations. She is also the Office Manager at Hawkins Hometown Dental, where she brings warmth and organization to the day-to-day operations.
Originally from Winnie, Texas, Lisa now lives in East Texas with her husband, Bob DuBose. She is a proud Gigi who treasures time spent with her granddaughter and her cats. Mike Gilmore

Mike joined the Lowe-Gardner team in 2022, assisting in transportation as well as working funerals and visitations. He works full-time at the Wood County Sheriff’s Office and owns and operates MT Auto Detail.

He is a certified scuba diver, assisting in many search and rescue missions in the past. Mike also plays the bagpipes and assists in storm-watching for different organizations. He and Tammy are faithful members of the First United Methodist Church of Quitman and enjoy biking in their spare time.

She is a former member of the Quitman Volunteer Fire Department where she served in various capacities, such as Treasurer, Incident Safety Officer and Training Officer, Emergency Medical Responder, as well as a member of the Wood County Fire Department Honor Guard and Secretary for the Wood County Fire Chiefs’ Association. Currently, she serves as a firefighter with the Hainesville Volunteer Fire Department.
As an avid cyclist, she is a National Interscholastic Cycling Association coach, as well as a member of the Tyler Bicycle Club and Fresh Racing.

She is a former member of the Quitman Volunteer Fire Department where she served in various capacities, such as Treasurer, Incident Safety Officer and Training Officer, Emergency Medical Responder, as well as a member of the Wood County Fire Department Honor Guard and Secretary for the Wood County Fire Chiefs’ Association. Currently, she serves as a firefighter with the Hainesville Volunteer Fire Department.
As an avid cyclist, she is a National Interscholastic Cycling Association coach, as well as a member of the Tyler Bicycle Club and Fresh Racing.
