William "Bill" Alfred Owens

William Alfred Owens, Jr., 87, of Mineola, TX passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in Tyler, TX.

William was born on January 22, 1931, in Prague, Oklahoma to Ethel (Moore) Owens and William A. Owens, Sr. He was a US Army Veteran and worked in sales as the regional sales manager for Coastal Chemical.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife of 65 years, Wilma J. Owens.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Russell Owens and wife Patsy of The Woodlands and Marlon Owens and wife Brenda of Mineola; one granddaughter, Jennifer Owens Smith of Fort Stockton; three great grandkids, Chelsey (Smith) Hurst, Shelby Smith and Alexis Smith; and numerous extended family.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 2:00 PM at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel.

Fellowship will be held at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church after the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Alzheimer's would be greatly appreciated.

Bill’s ashes will be buried next to his wife, Wilma, at the Owen’s Family Cemetery at a later date.
