Wanda Calvert

Wanda Calvert, age 89, passed away on February 6, 2018 in Houston.

Wanda was born in Forest Hill to the late William and Carrie Gilbreath. She married Dee Calvert on July 12, 1946, in Houston. Wanda moved to Quitman from Houston in 1982, and had recently moved back to the Houston area.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dee Calvert; son, Marvin Calvert; daughter, Barbara Ann Calvert; parents, William and Carrie Gilbreath; three brothers; two sisters and several nieces and nephews.

She left behind to cherish her memory, her son, Mike Calvert and wife Valerie; daughter in law Pam Calvert; grandchildren, Ryan, Christie, Brian and Jeremy; nine great grandchildren, sister Dorothy McDade and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral service for Wanda Calvert will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Lowe Funeral Home with Brother Fred Morrow officiating. Graveside service will follow at Clover Hill Cemetery in Quitman, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Calvert, Benny Bludworth, Joe Mac King, Danny Gorman, Mark Gorman, and Johnnie Ivy.
