Vera Rawlins

Vera Rawlins, age 79, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026. She was born on January 3, 1947, and leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family.

Vera was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Gussie Smith; two of her children, Gary Lee Zimmerman and Terry Gene Zimmerman; her grandson, Gary Timmons Zimmerman; her sisters, Jean Harrington and Sue Lewis; brother, Hurd Timmons Bennett.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Kimberly Zimmerman Stephens and Russell Rawlins. As well as her daughters-in-law, Arminda Zimmerman and Jackie Zimmerman. Vera was also the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren, Stormi, Ryan, Jeremy, Joshua, Erin, Bryan, Garrett, Avery, and Hunter, and she was blessed with several great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.

One of Vera's greatest loves was her animals. Her animals were never just pets-they were cherished members of her family, and she cared for them with a loving heart. She also treasured the last several years of her life, during which she was fortunate to live close to her family. Being surrounded by those she loved meant the world to her, and those precious moments together will forever be treasured.

Vera will be remembered for her caring spirit, her unconditional love for her family, and the warmth she shared with everyone who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

The family finds comfort in knowing that Vera has been reunited with her both of her sons, her grandson, and mother, who went before her, and that her love will remain with them always.
