Tim Baker

Funeral service for Tim Baker, 64, of Mineola, is scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Lowe Funeral Home with Brother Nick Kerry and Brother Cody Mize officiating. Committal will follow at the Quitman City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday evening at the funeral home.

Timothy (Tim) Curtis Baker was born May 1, 1953 in Gilmer to Curtis E. and Lola Faye (Roberts) Baker. He lived all of his life in Wood County, retiring from Wood County Electric Coop. Tim attended Sand Springs Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the National Riffle Association.

Tim went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 28, 2017.

He is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Baker; wife, Bobbie Baker; granddaughter, Ally Baker; and nephew, Wesley Baker.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Penny Baker of Mineola; son, Shaun Baker and wife Lindsey of Quitman; 3 daughters, Patty Whipple and husband Jason of Lake Fork, Ashley Putman and husband Beau of Mineola, Meagan Whitehurst of Grapevine; mother, Lola Faye Baker of Quitman; brother, Danny Baker, wife Cindy and daughter Cristi and husband Jeff Blalock of Quitman; 12 grandchildren, Abbi Taylor, Alex Taylor, Grayson Baker, Layni Baker, Brady Robinson, Taylor Robinson, Ella Robinson, Austin Putman, Mason Putman, Levi Putman, Ally Putman, and Preston Berry; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Macy Mitchell, Beau Putman, Jeff Taylor, Cuco Santos, Billy Patrick, Mike Ziegler, Johnny Potts, Russell Barton, and Kyle Hayes.

Honorary pallbearers are the Wood County Electric Coop employees.
