Tiffeny Lynn Van Der Leij, 48, of Winnsboro, passed away on January 18, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. She was born on January 23, 1977, in Longview, Texas.
Tiffeny grew up in Longview and made Winnsboro her home for the past 20 years. She spent many years working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, caring for others with dedication and compassion. Later, she followed her love for animals and became a dog breeder, specializing in Boston Terriers and French Bulldogs.
In 2025, Tiffeny married Bert Van Der Leij. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, coloring, and sewing.
Despite the bad hand she was delt growing up, she was incredibly resilient and family focused. Always putting her kids before herself even if they weren’t her blood. She took in anyone who needed a kind hand and an ear to listen. She was the best supporter and number one fan of those close to her always cheering them on. She was a strong woman with strong morals. Always trying to do what’s right and wanting to lead others down the correct path.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Abrena.
Tiffeny is survived by her husband, Bert Van Der Leij; three children, Kenyon Figures (Olivia) of Kaufman, Jaden Figures of Winnsboro, and Austin Waymire, who is serving in the military; her brother, Jesse Rich Downs; her granddaughter, Violet Abrena Figures; and many extended family members and friends who will remember her deeply.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
