Terry Curtis of Sun Eagle Bay, Yantis, TX and former resident of Albuquerque, NM, peacefully passed away Monday, April 19th at her home in Sun Eagle Bay, after battling cancer for many years. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK on June 3, 1955 then moved to Albuquerque where she was raised. She began her 39-year career in Houston with Baker Botts LLP for 11 years before moving to the Dallas office, working another 28 years for the firm.
Terry married her perfect soulmate, Alan Curtis, May 1, 1998 and traveled with with him, making many memories. Terry loved the lake and it became her final home, enjoying family, friends, laughter, and most of all the beautiful Lake Fork sunsets. She is survived by her loving husband, Alan Curtis; parents, Glen and Beverly Luttrell; sisters Linda McLachlan and husband Mike, Connie Crosby and husband David; son, Gerald Byrd and wife, Sara; stepdaughters Brandi Curtis, Amy Scott, Lindsay Robbins, and Courtney Curtis; grandchildren Presley Goodman, Nicholas Straughan, Russell Robbins, Calli Byrd, Chloe Curtis, Kevin Robbins, and Ensley Byrd. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as her lifelong best friend, Robynne Hixon and her entire Sun Eagle Bay family.
Services will be held at Lowe Funeral Home Saturday, April 24th at 3pm at 1102 E Goode St, Quitman, Texas officiated by Chaplin James Spurgeon, followed by a Celebration of Life and sunset lantern release at Sun Eagle Bay. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque, NM.
