Funeral services for Shirley Whyte, 78, of Quitman are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 12, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel of the Chimes with Reverend
Perry Crisp officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Mineola. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M.Thursday evening, October 11th at the funeral home.
Shirley left this earth to be with the Lord Jesus on October 9, 2012, in Tyler. She lived in Quitman 28 years coming from Jacksonville, Tx. She is preceded by her parents, Phyllis and Cecil Rowlands and a step-son Tom Whyte.
She is survided by her beloved and devoted husband of 28 years, George Vernon Whyte, Quitman; sister, Reba Klenke of Edwardsville, IL.; daughter, Jewell Rowlands, Squim, WA; son, Jeffrey Travers, Tyler; Stepdaughters; Nancy Croson, Tyler, Rebecca Hamblett, Quitman, Alison Frank, Killeen; grandsons, Brandon Croson of The Colony, Jeff Croson, Tyler, Joshua and Joel Root as well as 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was an active member of Lake Fork Baptist Church. Shirley lived her life surrounded by the love of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lake Fork Baptist Church or The Hospice of East Texas Foundation.
