Sherie Lynn Ramsey

Sherie Lynn Matheson Ramsey, also known as “Grandma” entered into the pearly gates of Heaven on July 12, 2022 at the age of 61. She was born in Frankfort, Germany on October 4, 1960, to the late Don and Neta Sue Matheson. In 1979, Sherie tied the knot with the love of her life, Billy Ray Ramsey and they were married 37 years before his passing in 2016.

Sherie was a resident of Quitman for 46 years, moving here from Grand Prairie. She was a Registered Nurse at the Wood County Memorial Hospital/ ETMC. Sherie was the Head ER nurse and OB Nurse. Before retiring, Sherie was employed at the Quitman Hospital between 35-40 years. She and her mother Neta were the first mother/daughter EMT duo in the country.

Sherie loved to quilt and crochet, embroider, listen to Christian music, watch westerns, and she loved to fish. She also loved to have dance parties in the living room with her grandkids. She also attended Forest Hill Baptist Church.

She is welcomed into Heaven by her husband, Billy Ray Ramsey; her parents, Don and Neta Matheson; her son, Jason Ramsey; and her sister, Donna Matheson.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Nathan Ramsey and Fiancé Brittany of Quitman; brother, Stacy Don Matheson and wife Kelli of Midland; three grandchildren, Josh, Jayden, and Jackson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations with Brother Fred Morrow officiating. Graveside service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola.

Serving as pallbearers are Ethan Nance, Sean Weems, Ronnie Matheson, Ronnie Huddleston, Cody Hampton, and Tyler Holifield.
