Scott Moore Nix, 67, of Corinth, Texas, passed away peacefully in Quitman, Texas, on August 17, 2026. His passing brings a quiet end to a life marked by dedication to his profession, love for his family, and the many years and memories shared with those who knew him.

Scott was born on January 4, 1959, in Garrison, Texas, to Howard Nix and Billie Moore Nix. He graduated from Garrison High School before continuing his education at Lamar University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. His education led him into a successful career in the energy industry, where he spent several years with Pioneer Natural Energy. During his career, he was responsible for overseeing facilities in Coppell, Texas, a position that reflected his technical knowledge, dedication, and ability to take on significant responsibility.

While much of Scott's life was devoted to his career, his greatest and most lasting legacy will be found in his family. He was a father and grandfather whose memory will continue through the generations who follow him. The lessons, memories, and moments shared with his family will remain a part of his legacy for years to come.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Nix and Billie Moore Nix; and his brothers, Freddy Nix and Jimmy Nix.

Those left to cherish Scott's memory include his sons, Jason Scott Nix and wife, Barbra, of Burleson, Texas, and Daniel Alan Nix of Van Nuys, California; his grandson, James Nix; and granddaughter, Ava Nix.

A Graveside Service honoring Scott's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Cold Springs Cemetery, 3941 County Road 289, Garrison, Texas 75946.

Though Scott's life has come to a close, the impact of a life lived and the memories created along the way do not end with his passing. He will be remembered by his family and those who knew him, and his legacy will continue through his children and grandchildren.
