Sandra Henderson Wicks

The spirit of our beloved Sandra Lee Henderson Wicks, 70, was freed from her exhausted body on May 29, 2016, and returned to her heavenly home to be met by her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Funeral service is scheduled for 3 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Quitman with Brother Fred Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Quitman City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home.

Sandra was born December 7, 1945, in Dallas to William Curtis and Margaret Proctor Henderson. She married the love of her life, Bryan Loy Wicks in 1962. She was a Quitman resident since 1979, moving there from Cooper. She retired from Peoples Telephone Coop. where she was a commercial clerk. She was also a member of First Baptist Church, ALS Association, and a former member of the American Heart Association. Sandra gave her life to Jesus at a young age and lived her life as a Godly, Christian woman.

Her home was always open to family and friends. Her love and generosity knew no bounds. Her family and friends were important to her. She enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and dogs.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Bryan Curtis Wicks.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Marsha L. Burge and husband Michael; four grandchildren, Cody L. Wicks, Cody Burge and wife Amanda, Summer Burge, and Brandon Burge; two brothers, James W. Henderson and William C. Henderson; two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other dear Wicks and Henderson family members.

A special thanks to Harbor Hospice and the staff at Wood Memorial.

We will miss you, so for now it is goodbye beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye – we will see you again!
