Randel Wayne Clanton Jr., lovingly known by his family as Little Randy, by his children as Dad, and by his grandchildren as The Big Grandpa, passed away on November 3, 2026, just ten days before his 51st birthday.
No matter what name you knew him by, he was a man who left his own special mark on the hearts of those who loved him.
Randy was a man who loved deeply, lived with a personality all his own, and never had a shortage of words. He was stubborn and hardheaded, sometimes enough to drive those closest to him crazy, but underneath it all was a heart that loved his family more than anything in this world.
His children were his pride and joy. Whether he was talking their ears off, giving them a hard time, making them laugh, or simply spending time with them, he always wanted them to know just how much he loved them. His greatest wish was for his children to live a good life, learn from their mistakes, make their own memories, and never be afraid to live life to the fullest. His love for his mama was just as deep, a love that words could never fully express.
Randy had a passion for motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidsons, and there was nothing quite like the freedom and excitement of a good ride. He had a love-hate relationship with cooking (he was really good at it), enjoyed listening to music, and had a way of creating his own lyrics that rarely made any sense to anyone else but brought a little bit of Randy's humor and personality into the room or truck.
He was also a talented artist who put thought, time, and love into the drawings he created for his children and the people he cared about. Those drawings were more than just artwork; they were pieces of himself that he shared with the people he loved.
Randy wasn't perfect, and he never pretended to be. He was simply Randy: hardheaded, outspoken, creative, sometimes aggravating, and full of love for the people who meant the most to him. He leaves behind memories that will continue to bring smiles, laughter, and tears, along with reminders that love doesn't have to be perfect to be everlasting.
He was preceded in death by his father, Randall Wayne Clanton Sr.; his brother, Bradley Clanton; his Granny, Pauline Robinson; and his aunt, Glenda Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Gayla Clanton of Quitman, Texas; his siblings, Michael Worsham Clanton and wife Janice of Texas City, Texas, and Nicole Clanton of Bedford, Texas.
He also leaves behind his six children: Corey Clanton of Hawkins, Texas; Emily Muro and husband Gustavo of Winnsboro, Texas; Whitney Wetzel and husband Marcus of Hawkins, Texas; Kyler Gilliam of Hawkins, Texas; D'ann Shipp of Winnsboro, Texas; and Brittany Posey and husband Stefan of Portsmouth, Virginia.
Along with his 13 beloved grandchildren, who will forever hold a special place in his heart.
Though his time here was cut short, the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the memories he left behind will live on through the people who knew and loved him.
He will be missed more than words can ever express, loved beyond measure, and remembered always.
Funeral service for Randy will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals and Cremations. Graveside service will follow at Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 PM.
