Peggy Lynn Samford

Peggy Samford, 74, of Mineola, Texas returned to her heavenly home on January 11, 2022 with her loving family by her side.

Peggy was born to the late Lester and Lydia (Petr) Gentry on January 6, 1948 in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated high school in 1966. Peggy worked as a bookkeeper and bank teller before she retired in 2013. On November 7, 1981 she married her true love, James Samford in Idabell, Oklahoma. They were married 39 wonderful years until his passing in 2020. Peggy’s church home was Smith Chapel United Methodist Church in Mineola.

She is greeted in heaven by her loving husband James Samford; and parents Lester and Lydia Gentry.

Left to cherish her precious memory are her children Jill Brown (Tommy) from Mineola, Texas, and Casey Elliott (Traci) from Hallsville, Texas; grandchildren Austin Brown, Kassidee and Vincent Elliott; and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Graveside services for Peggy will be held 2:00PM Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola, Texas under the direction of Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations.
