Patsy Sue Dusenbury

Patsy Sue Dusenbury, also known as “Mema”, age 77 of Quitman, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in Tyler.

Patsy was born on March 23, 1945, in Cuthand, Texas, to the late David and Margaret Lucille Knowles.

On November 6, 1964, Patsy married the love of her life, George Lee Dusenbury, in Irving, Texas. Together, the Dusenburys welcomed two daughters, Carol and Debbie.

Patsy was a stay at home mom and housewife for most of her life, filling her home with laughter, memories, and delicious home cooked meals. She loved her family dearly and was her daughters biggest cheerleader. After George retired, the couple moved to Quitman to be closer to friends. They lived in Quitman for 20 years.

Some of Patsy’s hobbies included camping and bowling on a league with her husband.  She also loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending her free time just sitting outside visiting with friends and family and enjoying God’s creations.

She is preceded in death by both parents, David and Margaret Lucille Knowles; her husband, George Lee Dusenbury who passed away on December 20, 2022; and three brothers, Robert Knowles, Billy Knowles, and Gerald Knowles.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Carol Johnson of Bedford, Texas, and Debbie Moore and husband Dwain of Rowlett; sister, Penny Sanders of Arp, Texas; four grandchildren, Anthony, Ashley, Curtis, and Kaeli; four great-grandchildren, Elijah, Blakeley, Finley, and Marley; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
