Patsy Dunlap

Patsy Dunlap, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and “Ninny”, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2023, in Winnsboro, TX at the age of 79. She was born on September 5, 1944, in Goodwater, Oklahoma, to her parents, Ray and Lorene Peek.

For over two decades, Patsy resided in Winnsboro. Patsy shared a beautiful journey in life with her loving husband, Donald Dunlap, whom she married on February 5, 1966. Donald and Patsy’s marriage was an example to all of true love and commitment.

Patsy found joy in her family and hobbies. She had a green thumb and delighted in tending to her vegetable garden. Patsy was an amazing cook and had many family favorite recipes. Her grandchildren fondly referred to her as Ninny and relish the joyful moments spent together, such as making homemade biscuits, playing dress up & card games, and even playing basketball. You wouldn’t think a woman of Pat’s petite size would be a basketball player, but she was and she was not afraid to throw an elbow or two at her grandchildren, emphasizing that “you have 5 fouls, and you better use 3 of them.”

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lorene Peek; sisters, Sandra and Margie; and brothers, Windle and James.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Donald Dunlap of Winnsboro; son, David Dunlap and wife Helen of Beckville; daughter, Christine Kunkle of Marshall; sister, Gayle Blyth of Goodwater, OK; five grandchildren, Lauren, Brittany, Brianna, Bailey, and Stephanie; 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
