Nettie Louise Wilder

Nettie Louise Wilder passed away at the Heritage Nursing Home in Quitman, Texas on December 13, 2013 at the age of 93.

Nettie is predeceased by her devoted husband of 66 years, Chester A. Wilder, her dear mother and father, Ruth and Homer Robinson, and her adored brother, Homer E. Robinson.

Nettie and Chester were married in Quitman March 18, 1939.

Nettie is lovingly remember by her son, Gary Wilder and wife Billie, Quitman, TX, her daughter, Karen Utterback and husband Lance of Allen, Tx, her granddaughter, Kalen Mainord and husband Clay of Allen, Tx, and her great grandchildren Margo, Andrew and Matthew Mainord of Allen, Tx. She is also remembered by her sister-in-law, Betty Robinson, her nieces, Pam Bagby and husband Mack, Stephanie Cole and husband John and her nephew Greg Robinson and wife, Linda.
She was born in Quitman on April 4, 1920 and graduated from Quitman High School having attained the highest standing of any student in the class of 1936. She received a scholarship to The College of Marshall; however, attended the State Teachers' College, Commerce, instead. Her first job was assisting the manager, Chester Wilder, of the Agriculture Adjustment Administration in Quitman. Nettie worked twenty year as a substitute rural route mail carrier and several years as bookkeeper for Jackson Motor Company in Quitman.
Nettie was, first and foremost, a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who cherished caring for her family. She was an exceptional cook and seamstress, a friend for life to those she loved and enjoyed visiting with friends, reading, traveling, adoring her grandchild and great grandchildren, church and most of all in life, she loved spending time with Chester.

The celectration of Nettie's life will be held at Fist Baptist Church, 301 E. Lane St., Quitman on Thursday, December 19 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. James Nickell and Bro. Fred Morrow officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to First Baptist Church, Quitman, TX.
