Nelda Jean Dodd

Funeral service for Nelda Jean Dodd, 83, of Quitman, is scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Lowe Funeral Home with Brother Fred Morrow officiating.

Nelda was born May 26, 1934, in Timpson, TX to Melvin Joseph Darnell and Lula Mae (Ritter) Darnell. She grew up in White Oak, TX and graduated from Longview High School. She lived in Quitman 51 years and worked for Nanny's Playhouse for about 8 years.

Nelda passed away December 7, 2017 in Quitman, TX.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Gene Deer and G.P. Dodd; daughter, Sherry Deer and son Brad Deer.

Survivors include son, Michael Deer and wife Teri of Quitman; sister, Carolyn Jackson and husband Butch of Lake of the Pines; two granddaughters, Hope Deer and Heather Deer; three nephews, Andy Deer, Mark Deer and Noah Jackson.
