Michael David Cartwright

Michael David Cartwright, 67, of Rowlett, TX passed away March 30, 2016 at his home after an 8-year battle with lung cancer.

He was born to G.W. Cartwright Jr. and Winnith Cartwright on August 19, 1948 in Dallas, TX.

He retired from the US Postal Service in 2007 after 40 years of service. He was a member of Duck Creek Masonic Lodge of Garland, Scottish Rite, and Hella Temple.

He was a lifelong outdoorsman who loved to bass fish at Lake Fork and Sundowner Lake, crappie fish at Lake Lavon, and bay fish at Port Aransas with partners Barry Weems, Billy Weems; and hunting in Collingsworth County with John Hammes and John O’Rear and son and grandsons.

When he wasn’t on the lake or in the woods, he loved reading, sports, was an avid aggie fan, and loved spending time with his family.

He leaves behind his wife LaJaun of 32 years and to carry on his legacy; son, James Cartwright and wife Regina of Naples, TX; two daughters, Lara Wisinger and husband Randy of Mt Pleasant, TX, and Jenni Harwood and husband Norman of Mt Pleasant, TX; three granddaughters, Haley Cartwright and Fiancé Shawn Albright, Madison McDaniel, and Makayla Harwood; and four grandsons, Josh Cartwright, Colin McDaniel and girlfriend Shaney Daniels, Carrson Harwood, and Trey Wisinger.

He is also survived by lots of nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law who loved and adored him and will be missed by all.

Visitation is scheduled for 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, April 1, 2016 at: Lowe Funeral Home 1102 E Goode St Quitman, TX 75783

Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 2, 2016 at: Concord Cemetery Hwy 778 Quitman, TX 75783
