Maurene Henry

Maurene Henry, age 106, was called home on August 13, 2020 in Fort Worth, Texas. Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel, 1102 East Goode Street, Quitman, Texas with Pastor Floyd Brooks officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Freeman Cemetery in Wood County. She will lie in state at the Lowe Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.

Maurene was born on June 28, 1914, in Quitman, Wood County, Texas to Thomas and Eva (Williams) Montgomery. She married Jenkins Henry on July 14, 1934 in Quitman. Mrs. Henry was faithful to her Church homes, Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church in Quitman and in more recent years, Greater Rising Star Baptist Church at Lake Como, Ft Worth, TX.

Surviving family includes her daughters; Emily Hollman; Eva Henry; Bobbie Jones, all of Fort Worth; Ora Carter of Desoto, Cora Walker of Dallas; a son and daughter-in- law, James Thomas and his wife Dawnitha of Desoto; 13 Grandchildren, 29 Great, 18 Great-Great, and 1 Great-Great-Great Grandchildren, as well as those in her church and extended families.
