Martha LaJoy Sims

Funeral services for Martha LaJoy "Joy" Sims are scheduled for 1:30 PM Sunday, May 19th at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Fred Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday evening May 18th at Lowe Funeral Home. Joy was born January 31, 1942 in Winnsboro to Ike and Geneva Messimer Kennemer. She passed away in Tyler May 16, 2013. She moved to Quitman in 1977 from Winnsboro and is a Methodist. She is preceded in death by her father Ike Kennemer and husband, Gerald Sims.

Joy is survived by her mother, Geneva Kennemer, Winnsboro; 3 sons, Gary Sims and June, Golden, Mike Sims and Cathy, Chandler, Jason Sims and Sharon, Aubrey,Texas, 1 brother; Harold Kennemer and Sylvia, Round Rock; 1 sister, Vickie Kennemer, Whitehouse and 6 grandchldren.
