Graveside services for Margaret Burks 81 Quitman are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 21, 2014 in the Quitman City Cemetery with Reverend James Nickell officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M.Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Lowe Funeral Home Quitman. Margaret was born Februry 1, 1933 in Mineola, TX to Thomas and Marie Corley Shipp. She married James Burks Sept. 1, 1950. She moved to Quitman in 1995 and is a member of the First Baptist Church Quitman.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Donna Gustafson. Margaret is survived by her husband James Burks, Quitman; son, Mike Burks and wife Linda, Texarkana, TX; 1 brother, James L. Shipp, Golden, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
