Funeral service for Levi Wayne DeForrest, 23, of Winnsboro, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home with Bishop D.B. Kitchell and Pastor Bryant Kitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Little Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Levi Wayne DeForrest was born in Sulphur Springs to Shannon and Shelley DeForrest on February 7, 1993. He lived in Winnsboro all of his life, graduating from Winnsboro High School in 2011. After graduation he went on to work in the oil field. He started out working on work over rigs and worked his way up to a driller. He then became a welder's helper, and in the near future would be a welder. He enjoyed bowfishing and spending time with his friends and family. Levi went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James DeForrest I.

Levi came from a very close-knit family who will forever cherish the memories they shared. Left to cherish those memories are his parents, Shannon and Shelley DeForrest; sister, Destinee Thomas and husband Casey; paternal grandmother, Melba Barrick and husband James; maternal grandparents, Allen “Gab” and Janey Weems and Brenda Tinney; paternal aunt and uncles, Stacy Ferrell, James DeForrest II, and Joseph DeForrest and wife Sueann; maternal aunts and uncle, Sheila Williamson, Jimmie Weems and wife Lynn, and Sharon Lyons and husband Ricky; nineteen first cousins, Jaycee, Jacob Ferrell, Tuesday, Elizabeth, James III “Trey”, Kurt, Amanda, Joseph Marion, Daniel Marion, Josh, Brandon, Bradley, Kaleb, Joseph Williamson, Brittney, Jacob Weems, Daniel Weems, Thomas, and Patience; and several great aunts and uncles, and second and third cousins.

Serving as pallbearers are Ray Smith, Paul Weems, Thomas Moss, Bo Browning, Dalton Parker, and Casey Thomas.
