Funeral services for Lena Elizabeth Powell, 82, Quitman are scheduled for Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel, Quitman with Del Ussery officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery. Family will receive friends at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. She passed away October 19, 2013. Lena was born May 3, 1931. She lived in Quitman most of her life and was a member of the Church of Christ in Quitman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harmon F. Powell, 1 son, Geary Jones, 1 Brother and 1 Sister .
Lena is survived by sons Ivy Jones, Mike Powell and wife Amy, and Ronnie Powell, Quitman; Danny Jones, Missouri, and Morris Gary and wife Sarah, Golden, and a step-son, Gene Powell, Mineola; 2 daughters, Joyce Box and husband Ronnie, Quitman and Glenda and Kevin Hill and husband , Palestine; 2 brothers, Clyde Applegate, Millerton, Oklahoma and Bill Applegate Clarksville, TX., 1 sister, Johnie Fay Swink and many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
