Lee Anna Brickman, 82, of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, passed away on May 14, 2025, in Tyler, Texas.
Born on November 16, 1942, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lee Anna was the daughter of Jerold and Gladys Layton. After graduating from Will Rodgers High School in Tulsa, she attended Tulsa University and was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She worked several different jobs in her career, but she was best known for her many years of service at Duncanville High school working in the attendance office.
In 1962, she married the love of her life, John Brickman, in her hometown of Tulsa. Together they built a beautiful life and had two sons, John Alan and Jerold Scott Brickman.
About 30 years ago, Lee Anna and John retired from Duncanville to Holly Lake Ranch, where they became cherished members of the community. After settling into Holly Lake Ranch, she found joy in hosting and attending monthly Bunko parties with her close circle of girlfriends.
Lee Anna had a heart for others and found joy in helping those in need. She was an original founding member of “Helping Because We Care”, a non-profit organization that runs estate sales with the purpose of donating proceeds to support local low-income families.
In her younger years, she loved to play golf. She also had a lifelong talent for crafts of all kinds, and her creativity and skill showed in everything she made. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Mahjong and was quite accomplished at both.
To her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as “Grandma Honey”—a name as sweet as the love and warmth she gave so freely. Lee Anna’s kindness, creativity, and devotion to others will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jerold and Gladys Layton; and husband, John E. Brickman.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, John Alan Brickman and wife Vicki of Florida, and Jerold Scott Brickman of Florida; sister, Diane Thurman of Holly Lake Ranch; three grandchildren, Kaylie Bigham and husband Kody, Regan Davis and husband Adam, and Eli Brickman; and two nieces, Julie Gray and Joni Peters.
