Larry Dale Moore

Larry Moore, resident of Winnsboro, Texas passed away at his home on May 6, 2024, at the age of 73.

Larry Dale Moore was born in Winnsboro on August 3, 1950 to Hershal H. and Velma (Busby) Moore. Larry lived all his life in Winnsboro, graduating from Winnsboro High School in 1968. On July 4, 1969, he exchanged vows with his beloved Donna in the intimate setting of their preacher's house in Pickton, Texas, a union that would blossom and endure throughout the years.

Larry was a hardworking man, working in the Oil & Gas industry for over 20 years before retiring in the late 80's. After retirement, he spent his days tending to his property and caring for his cattle.

Beyond his career, Larry had a compassionate spirit that led him to engage in a prison ministry. He spread hope and positivity as he preached at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, garnering recognition as the Volunteer of the Year in 2000 by Governor George W. Bush. Additionally, he was a familiar face at Harmony Assembly of God, where he enjoyed worshiping with his church family.

In Larry's spare time, he could be found cheering on the Red Raiders. His enthusiasm for Red Raider Football earned him a reputation as the family's "armchair quarterback."

Larry greets in Heaven his parents, Hershal and Velma Moore; one brother, Roy Moore; and one grandson, Trent Floyd.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years, Donna Moore of Winnsboro; three children, Brian Moore and wife Betty of Winnsboro, Tina Carrillo of Mt. Pleasant, and Misty Floyd and husband Jason of Winnsboro; two siblings, Shirley Nugent and James Moore; four grandchildren, Jesse Carrillo, Ryan Carrillo, Kristen Floyd, and Haley Floyd; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
