Larry Don Deas

Larry Don Deas, 61, born January 31st, 1960 to Johnnie Bob Deas and Joy Marie Farmer Deas in Waxahachie, TX. Larry came to Wood County and never left. He was an oil field worker for over 20 years before working for Wood County Prt. 1 as a foreman of the road crew for 23 years. There wasn’t a single piece of equipment that Larry did not know how to run or work on, he knew it all.

Larry met the love of his life, Malinda Lee Waddill, after getting her the first speeding ticket she ever had. After one year, he put a ring on her finger and they were married on September 20th, 1981.

They have one son, Johnny Don Deas, and one daughter, Misty Lee Deas. Johnny gave Malinda and Larry three grandkids- 21 year-old Dakota Don, 16 year-old Adren Nicole Deas, and 12 year-old Chris Cade Deas, as well as 4 grandkids from Johnny’s wife, Tara- 16 year-old Ty, 15 year-old Zach, 14 year-old Julie, and 11 year-old Natalie. They all loved their pawpaw very much.

Larry’s mom and dad are meeting him at the Golden Gates. Larry has 2 older brothers, Stanley Joe and Jeffery Deas, 2 younger sisters, Lori Huff and Kelly Harris. Through his siblings are several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.

Life will never be the same without Larry. He was a friend to everyone, and never met a stranger. Even when he couldn’t work on cars, friends would call him up and tell him what the vehicle was doing, and Larry could tell them exactly what to do. After he retired from the county, Larry lived his dream life working with his cows and fishing for catfish at Lake Fork. God took a great man that will be missed by many friends and family. We are sure that God will keep Larry busy working on whatever needs fixing and giving him plenty of time to fish.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Joe Rogers, Dennis Hunt, Mike Boran, Darrell Hearn, Todd Gilbreath.
