She was born March 27, 1925 in Dubach, LA. to John and Gertrude Owens Brit. Joyce passed away November 17, 2013 in Kilgore. She was a housewife and of the Episcopalian faith.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Heitzelman, Robert McCurdy and H. H. "Pet" Green; 1 Son, Kenneth Ford; 1 brother, Calvin Brit;l 4 sisters, Lloyce, Lois, Lydah and Virginia. She was one of ten children. She is survived by 4 sisters, Ruth Simmons, Kilgore, Doris Brit, Springfield Missouri, Myra Nelson, Ruston, LA, and Rohda Nelson, Simmsboro, LA.
