Jorge Humberto Román, age 48, of Quitman, passed away Monday, August 30, 2021 in Tyler.

Jorge was born in Santo Tomas, Ojocaliente, Zacatecas, Mexico on March 23, 1973 to Eliseo and Rosa Román. Jorge served Mexico proudly in the Mexican Armed Forces before moving to Texas. He lived in Quitman 18 years. Jorge was a family man and loved his children dearly. He always had a smile on his face and loved to sing karaoke.

Jorge was preceded in death by his father, Eliseo Román.

His survivors include his significant other, Maribel Román; mother, Rosa Román; three sons, Jorge M. Román and wife Elizabeth, Cesar Román, and Carlos Román; one daughter, Vanesa Román; 9 siblings, Maria Montes, Bartolo Román, Elisa Román, Elias Román, Ricado Román, Mirian Román, Francisco Román, Obdulia Delgadillo, and Rosalba Román; three grandchildren, Xavier, Angel, and Sebastian; and many cousins and extended family members and friends.

Rosary will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 7:00 PM, at Lowe-Gardner Funeral Home. The family will receive guests following the Rosary, until 9:00 PM.

Mass will be held Friday, September 3, 2021, at 1:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Emory. The Rite of Committal will follow at Quitman City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Jorge M. Román, Bartolo Román, Elias Román, Ricado Román, Francisco Román, Cesar Román, Jose Bustos, Heriberto Bustos, and Alex Delgadillo.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family kindly asks that those who attend wear masks, bring hand sanitizer, and try to practice social distancing.

Jorge Humberto Román, de 48 años, de Quitman, falleció el lunes 30 de agosto de 2021 en Tyler.

Jorge nació en Santo Tomás, Ojocaliente, Zacatecas, México el 23 de marzo de 1973 de Eliseo y Rosa Román. Jorge sirvió a México con orgullo en las Fuerzas Armadas Mexicanas antes de mudarse a Texas. Vivió en Quitman 18 años. Jorge era un hombre de familia y amaba mucho a sus hijos. Siempre tenía una sonrisa en su rostro y le encantaba cantar karaoke.

Jorge fue precedido en la muerte por su padre, Eliseo Román.

Sus sobrevivientes incluyen a su pareja, Maribel Román; madre, Rosa Román; tres hijos, Jorge M. Román y esposa Elizabeth, Cesar Román y Carlos Román; una hija, Vanesa Román; 9 hermanos, Maria Montes, Bartolo Román, Elisa Román, Elias Román, Ricado Román, Mirian Román, Francisco Román, Obdulia Delgadillo y Rosalba Román; tres nietos, Xavier, Angel y Sebastian; y muchos primos y familiares y amigos.

Se llevara acabo el Rosario el jueves 2 de Septiembre del 2021 a las 7pm a 8pm y 8 pm a 9pm para terminar con la visita y el pesame a la familia en Lowe-Gardner Funeral Home.

La misa de cuerpo presente se llevara acabo el viernes 3 de Septiembre a la 1pm en la Iglesia de St. John the Evangelist at 551 FM 2795 Emory TX. 75440. El Rito de Compromiso seguirá en el cementerio de la ciudad de Quitman.

Los portadores del féretro son Jorge M. Román, Bartolo Román, Elías Román, Ricado Román, Francisco Román, César Román, José Bustos, Heriberto Bustos y Alex Delgadillo.

Debido a la pandemia de COVID-19, la familia solicita amablemente que quienes asisten usen máscaras, traigan desinfectante de manos y traten de practicar el distanciamiento social.
