Johnie Dowell

Funeral services for Johnie Dowell 80 of Golden are scheduled for 2:00 P M, Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Golden with Reverend Edwin Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery..Johnie was born January 10, 1932 in Golden, Tx.to Thurman and Rosa Lee Dowell and passed away May 5, 2012 in Mineola. He was retired from the Civil Service as a Civil Engineer and was in the U S Army. He was a graduate of Golden High School and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1954. He taught Ag in Brownsville and was Girls Basketball Coach and Science teacher in Quitman.He worked for LTV a number of years and was a Mason.

Johnie was preceded by his parents Thurman and Rosa Lee Dowell and one daughter Theresa Fran Womack-2003. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Billie Dowell of Golden and one daughter Dianna Cyne Pullen, Dallas. He is also survived by 2 brothers Alvis Dowell, Tyler and Henry Dowell of Golden.

Family will received friends from 6:00-8:00 PM. Tuesday evening, May 8th at the funeral home.
