Jane Janet Sherrin

Jane Janet Sherrin, 55, of Quitman, Texas, passed away on February 17, 2022. She was born September 15, 1966, in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late Robert Lee Kelley Sr. and Shirley Mae Kelley.

Jane moved from Gainesville, Texas in 2004 and settled down in Quitman. She had been a Quitman resident for the past 18 years. After her first husbands passing in 2013, Jane fell in love with Lodes Sherrin and the two were soon married on July 11, 2020. She attended the Holy Ghost Central Church in Alba, Texas. Jane had recently become an East Texas Hog Member. One thing Jane loved to do the most was to spoil her grandchildren. She enjoyed going on camping trips, swimming, and attended as many Christmas parades as she could. One quote Jane always stuck by was, “you couldn’t starve a fat girl”.

Jane was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Robert Lee Kelley Sr. and Shirley Mae Miles, several brothers and sisters, and former husband, Donald Ray Dailey.

Jane is survived by her husband, Lodes Sherrin; son, Charles Laird of Quitman; daughters, Brenda Laird and fiancé Wes Horn of Gainesville, Lorie Workman and husband Lonie of Mineola, and Lisa Kelley and boyfriend Charles Newman of Gainesville; sister, Shirley “Missie” Kelley of Dallas; brothers, Edward Kelley and wife Mona of Arlington, and John Kelley and wife Venus of Grand Saline; 12 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one great grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
