Funeral services for James J. Walker, 80, Mineola are scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel of the Chimes, Quitman with Reverend Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Mineola. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, May 3rd at Lowe Funeral Home. James J. (Jim) Walker passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2013. He was born December 7, 1932 in Cordova, Alabama to Luther and Corinne Morton Walker. He attended Idaho State College, where he studied electrical engineering. At 19 years old he married his 1st and only love, Ruth Dowdy. Together they raised 3 children, Mike (Missie) Walker, Cyndi (Gary) Sibley, and Sandi (Jim Brown) Jackson. He has 4 grandchildren, Kyle (Leslie), Craig, Andy (Amy), and Jamie, and 1 great granddaughter, Ava. The majority of Jim's work career was spent with Fischbach and Moore International, where he retired as President in 1992. He and Ruth then moved to Pine Mills, Texas where he spent his time ranching, farming, fishing, and playing. Jim was a loving husband and wonderful father, grandfather, and friend. He will be forever loved and missed. Other survivors include his brother, Leslie (Verna) Walker, niece, Daphne Dowdy, nephews, Carter Dowdy, Steve Walker, Jeff Walker, Greg Walker and 2 aunts, 97 year old Beebee McElhannon and 91 year old Opal Walker.

Those serving as Pallbearers are:
Kyle Jackson, Craig Jackson, Andy Walker, Johnny Reed, Carter Dowdy and Pelo Tavara.
