James E. Hartsfield Jr.

Funeral service for James E. Hartsfield, Jr., 78, of Quitman, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home with Brother Fred Morrow officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday evening at the funeral home.

James Everett Hartsfield Jr. was born January 17, 1938 in Wood County to F.E. and Pearl (Moore) Hartsfield and passed away June 16, 2016 in Quitman. He lived all of his life in Wood County and was a member of Hubbard Chapel Baptist Church. He served in the US Army and later retired from Wood County Electric Coop after working many years as a lineman.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jack Hartsfield and Preacher Hartsfield; and two sisters, Imogene Clanton and Joyce Hartsfield.

Survivors include daughter, Monica Ater and husband Jerry of Quitman; two granddaughters; six great granddaughters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Slayton, Derek Clanton, Shane Daniels, Chris Bryant, and Cory Clanton.
