Jake Lucius Gay

Graveside services with military honors for Jake Lucius Gay, age 85 of Quitman, Texas are scheduled for 9:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas with Minister Johnny Smith officiating.  Services are under the direction of Lowe-Gardner Funerals and Cremations in Quitman, Texas. 

Jake passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at his residence in Quitman.  He was born in Eastman, Georgia on April 29, 1937 to the late B. C. and Maggie Lee (Boone) Gay.  Jake served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam and retired after 20 years of service.  He went on to work in air conditioning and heating industry as a Regional Sales Manager and was a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lucy Jones of Mansfield, Texas.

Jake is survived by his loving wife, Sally Elizabeth Gay of Quitman, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Lee Olive of Randle, Washington; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Kim Gay of Arlington, Texas and Jeff and Amy Gay of Ft. Worth, Texas; sisters, Vera Roche of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Shirley Hill of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Lavern Gomez of Tavares, Florida and Minnie Bodner of Plant City, Florida; 8 grandchildren, Jamie O’Leary, Travis Martinek, Kristen Gay, Kaitlyn Gay, Christopher Gay, Mason Gay, Bailey Gay and Noah Gay; and 5 great grandchildren, Evelyn O’Leary, Eliza O’Leary, Kelton O’Leary, Zoee Martinek and Rilee Martinek.
