Funeral service for Jackie Wilson, 73, of Quitman, is scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home with Danny Meeks, Brother Perry Crisp, and David Allen officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.
Jackie Nell Wilson was born in Wolfe City on July 24, 1945 to Jack and Eythel Wallace. She graduated from Garland High School in 1963 and married the love of her life, Jack Wilson, on October 3, 1968. In the early 1990âs the two moved from Garland to Quitman. She worked at Wood County National Bank for 10 years and was a member at Lake Fork Baptist Church.
Jackie always balanced her life between working and raising a family. She was a loving and dedicated mother and wife. She served on the PTA, was a Den Mother, and helped coach baseball little league with her husband. It was important to Jackie that each child who wanted to play had a chance so she would drive out of her way to pick kids up for practice who had no other way of getting there, and even took their uniforms home to wash and repair them. She never missed an event. She was there for every dance and twirling class, piano and flute lesson, and every drill team, baseball, football, motocross, and soccer practice.
After her retirement, Jackie enjoyed raising cattle with her husband at their home on Lake Quitman, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Jackie passed away December 4, 2018 in Quitman.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Simpson Wallace and Eythel (Davidson) Wallace; two siblings, Patsy Cashion and Rodney Wallace; and one son, Rodney Wilson.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 50 years, Jack Wilson of Quitman; two sons, Robby Wilson and wife Franquelina of Dallas and Steve Wilson of Paris; daughter, Therese Wilson of Quitman; siblings, Linda Applegate, Roy Wallace, and Randy Wallace; and three grandchildren, Diego Wilson, Santiago Wilson, and Rodrigo Wilson.
