Funeral services for Jack Powell,85 of Quitman are scheduled for 10:30 a.m.,Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at the Church of Christ in Quitman with Mark Keene and Bruce Smith officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 P.M.Thursday in the Grove Hill Cemetery on Samuel Blvd, Dallas, Tx. There will be no visitation. Jack was born Jan. 18, 1928 in Styx,Tx. to Claude and Ethel Gothard Powell and passed away January 12, 2014 in Winnsboro. He is a member of the Quitman Church of Christ, a member of the Teamsters and an Elder of the Church of Christ. Jack is preceded in death by his wife Doris Powell in 2002 and a sister Louis Brisendine. He is survived by 2 daughters, Gwendylon Darlene Reynolds and James, Royse City, Tx. and Sheila Renee Beshires, Quitman, Tx.; 1 sister, Lela Ruth Drum, Rowlett, Tx., 3 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. and several nieces and nephews.
