Ivy Jayne Cunningham

Jayne Cunningham, 55, of Richardson, Texas, returned to her heavenly home Monday, April 18, 2022, following a lengthy battle with breast cancer and subsequent fight with bone cancer.

If you knew Jayne Cunningham, you loved her. The wife and mother of two was a former model, an artist and a renowned cake decorator and baker whose talents were surpassed only by her generous spirit and love for life. 

A native of Texarkana, Texas, Jayne was always outgoing, making friends everywhere she went, and her energy was seemingly endless. Jayne both taught and hosted cake decorating classes at Disney World, she competed in cake decorating competitions across the United States—including the Food Network Baking Challenge with Kerry Vincent—and she was joined by her friends year after year at the Oklahoma State Sugar Arts Show. In recent years, Jayne operated a successful food truck (complete with homemade pastries) appropriately named, Jayne Dough on the Go, with her husband, Troy. 

When Jayne wasn’t baking, she would turn her talents to helping others. As a young adult, Jayne designed teddy bears and sewed nursery items for local boutiques to sell. To share her love of dance with her children, she opened a dance studio called Magic Motion that she operated from 1995-1998. She regularly contributed to the activities of local schools, creating fun and memorable events for the students and the staff. And Jayne expressed her larger-than-life personality through the oversized displays she created for community events and the life-size murals she painted for area businesses and residences. 

Jayne met Troy in 1987 when she moved to Dallas and began working at Friendly Chevrolet. The two married the following year on Valentine’s Day and subsequently celebrated a 34-year love affair that included the other loves of Jayne’s life—her daughters, Sarah and Jennifer. 

Jayne Cunningham, born Sept. 15, 1966, joins her mother, Wanda Harrison, and her sister, Becky Pierce, in heaven.

Jayne is forever loved by her husband, Troy; her daughter Sarah, Sarah’s wife Amber Young and their children Henley, Holland and Grayson; her daughter Jennifer Cunningham and her daughter Andi; as well as her father, Jerry Crowley, and numerous other family members and lifelong friends, as well as she and Troy’s dogs, Chester and Happy. 

Services for Jayne will be Saturday, April 30, 2022, at First Baptist of Wylie in Wylie at 11 a.m.
