Hershel Flournoy

Funeral service for Hershel Flournoy, 63, of Mineola, is scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, June 30, 2018 at New Life Baptist Fellowship Church in Quitman with Pastor Clara Jean Gilbert-Love officiating. Interment will follow at Quitman City Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.

Hershel Flournoy was born March 25, 1955 in Mineola to Ernest and Catherine (Hornsby) Flournoy. He lived in Mineola all of his life and attended Brock’s Chapel in Quitman. He worked for Tyler Pipe for 40 years and loved to hunt, fish, and BBQ in his spare time.

Hershel entered Heaven’s gates Wednesday morning, June 20, 2018.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Catherine Flournoy, and his brother, Larry Flournoy.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 22 years, Donna Flournoy of Mineola; three sons, Dietrich Flournoy and wife Destinee of Mineola, Brandon Flournoy and wife Rochelle of Desoto, and Laterrius Flournoy of Mineola; one brother, Earnest Flournoy of Quitman; three sisters Pearley Etienne and husband Adam of Houston, Joyce Gibson and husband Charlie of Lancaster, and Alice Russell of Harker Heights; step sister, Marilyn Clark of Dallas; eight grandchildren Darion Flournoy, Devin Flournoy, D’Asia Flournoy, D’Jorian Flournoy, Bryson Flournoy, Isaac Flournoy, D’Adrian Flournoy, and Easton James Flournoy; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Serving as pallbearers are Bob O’Neal, Eric Sneed, Kevin Taylor, Curtis Kelly, Tony Riley Sr., Aldine Riley, and Devon Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers are JD Anderson, Ronnie Washington, Charles McIntosh, John Calip, and John Hill.
