Hazel Dale Collins, 87, a long-time resident of Yantis Texas, died peacefully on Sunday the 4th of October, 2020 at the Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs.
Born on May 13, 1933 in Dallas Texas, Hazel was a homemaker for many years before returning to school to obtain a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. She practiced as a biofeedback specialist at Charlton Methodist Hospital until she retired to East Texas with husband James Collins.
She loved sewing, reading, square-dancing, and gardening; and she amassed a delightful doll collection over the years. She made friends easily and shared her deep faith readily.
She is preceded in death by her parents VL Renfrow and Jewel Elam; husband James Collins; son James Craig Collins; brother Milton Renfrow; and her dearest friend and sister, Shirley Wilson.
She is survived by her sons, Alan Blaine Collins and Eric Lynne Collins; grandchildren, Charity Ward, Rob Collins, and Jeremy Collins; five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; friend and caretaker Etta Chapman; and many others who cherished her company throughout her life.
The Lowe Funeral Home in Quitman was entrusted to hold a private interment for Mrs. Hazel Collins.
