He went on to become a manager, supervisor, and finally, an owner of Food Fare Grocery Stores and Redi-Go Convenience Stores. He was a Mason and served on numerous boards, including the Texas Retail Grocery Association, of which he was President. He was known as a dedicated, hardworking businessman and made many lifelong friendships along the way.
