Gil Hammer

Funeral services for Gil Hammer, 89, of Holly Lake Ranch, are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Holly Tree Chapel with Reverend Tim Mink officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Tree Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Gilmore Albert Hammer was born November 18, 1926 to Albert W. and Marie Frances (Olson) Hammer, and died July 30, 2016 in Winnsboro. He lived in Holly Lake Ranch 38 years, coming from Garland. He retired from Couch Supply Co, was a member of Holly Tree Chapel, and a Mason.

He is preceded in death by wife, Neva Eckman Hammer in June 2014; one sister, Rena Mae Hammer; and his parents.

Survivors include three sons, David Hammer of Mexico, Richard Hammer and wife Teresa of Paris, and Larry Hammer and wife Jere of Port Lavaca; one daughter, Marlene Blaylock and husband Tim of Emory; brother, Robert Hammer and wife Denny of Chico; sister, Bonnie Glover of Pierre, SD; seven grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Robert Blaylock, Daniel Murphree, Cody Hammer, Howard Huang, Jordan Hammer, and Tim Blaylock.
