Garland Raye Harris

Garland Raye Harris was born September 22, 1951, in Los Angeles, California. He was the oldest of four children born to Bertha Mae and

Alvin Louis Harris, Sr. 

He worked hard and prided himself as a painter...homes, churches, office buildings, train cars, you name it, he'd paint it! You were fortunate if the paintbrush of "The Artist Touch" came in contact with your building. He had a big voice, a big laugh, loved gospel, jazz, and the Lord. His heart was kind and he always sought ways to help and advise others. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Shelton and Alvin Harris, Jr. He lived just beyond the "threescore and ten" (Psalms 90:10) that God promised and on October 6, 2023, Garland passed peacefully in his sleep.

He leaves to celebrate his life, a sister, Denise Harris Kirby; his only daughter, D'Nisha Harris; one grandson Riley Young; 2 nephews; 3 nieces, and a host of cousins and friends.
