Francine Barbara Lumpkins-Miller of Eustace, Texas, passed away on July 22, 2025, in Malakoff, Texas, at the age of 80.
Francine was born on June 23, 1945, in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Edward and May (Hendricks) Lumpkins. She was a talented seamstress, and spent many years working with care and precision in her craft.
On May 5, 1967, Francine married Sam Miller, and together they welcomed three children. In the 1980s, the family settled in Winnsboro, where she lived for many years and built a loving home.
In her younger days, Francine was an avid bowler and was a proud member of a bowling league in Fort Worth. Later in life, she found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Granny.” She loved cheering them on at their sporting events and poured her heart into making them handmade quilts—each stitch a reflection of her love.
Francine is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and May Lumpkins; her husband, Sam Miller; two brothers, J.W Lumpkins and Carl Lumpkins; and three sisters, Lorene Articola, Lenora Mills, and Kathryn Douthit.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Sandra Miller of Eustace, Connie Peek and husband Tony of Quitman, and Amanda Banks of Kilgore; two sisters, Marie Fowler and Anna Miller; six grandchildren, Colten Peek and wife Elizabeth, Colby Peek, Carly Copeland, Cameron Peek, Cade Banks, and Harley Banks; four great grandchildren, Brayden, Carter, Knox, and Ryder; one great grandchild on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral service for Francine will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations. Graveside service will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 PM.
Serving as pallbearers are Colten Peek, Colby Peek, Cameron Peek, Tony Peek, Cade Banks, and Blaine Shackelford.
