Eva Weems

With great sadness, but also with joy we announce the death of our loving , devoted wife, mother, Mimi, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her. Eva Jane Weems age 81, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born March 15, 1940, to the late Grady and Ada Kate Beard Cranfill in Barstow, Texas. She married Billy Maynard Weems on August 6, 1960. She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, and Mimi to her family. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Quitman.

Mimi (her favorite name) was a fun, dedicated, loving, wife, mother, and Mimi.
She loved and treasured spending time with her family and friends. She loved to
cook and celebrate any occasion with family and friends. She was a woman with
many talents and gifts as she painted, cross-stitched, gardened, worked puzzles
and had fierce-fun board games especially with her grandkids. Most of all, she
loved her family and taught them the love of Jesus and showed them how to live
a life walking daily with Him. We will miss her dearly, but because of Jesus we
know we will see her again in Heaven.

Eva is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill Weems; sons Don Weems and wife Tanya; Kent Weems and wife Laura Lee; daughter Kristi Bridges and husband Rocky; all from Quitman; sister Kathy Ellis and brother Lee Howle of Carrollton. sister in laws, Nita Dobbs and husband James of Tyler and Judy Ethridge and Husband Ed of Tomball; 11 Grandkids Lauren Hightower and Husband Clay of Quitman; Jody Weems of Madisonville, Kevin Weems and wife Leah of College Station; Lindsey Weems of Dallas; Colby Bridges of Quitman; Josh Weems and wife Skylar of Alba; Kyle Bridges and wife Hannah of Nacogdoches. 6 Great Grandkids; Lucas, Isaac and Abigail Hightower of Quitman , Judah and Asher Weems of College Station and Weston Weems of Alba. Numerous nieces and nephews. Two very sweet puppies "Jake" and "Nurse Bitsy" who stayed by her side continuously.

Eva, you created a special place here on earth as a wife, mother, grandmother and an excellent witness for our Lord. You will be given a special place in heaven also, and we all look forward to seeing you again there. God bless you Bill and all other family in your loss.

Eva was one of the first people I met after moving to Quitman. We both volunteered in the computer lab at elementary school. She was gracious and such a calm spirit, was thrilled to meet this sister in Christ. Then over the years I have had the privilege to know many of the family. I am sorry for your loss, but thankful you have the assurance that this is just a temporary separation. Heaven is sounding sweeter all the time.
