Emily Michelle Collins, born August 19, 2006 in Sulphur Springs.

Died February 14, 2016 at Cook Children's Hospital in Ft. Worth.

Emily Michelle Collins was born on August 19, 2006. Emily was a very sweet, nurturing child with so much personality. She loved riding the tractor, feeding horses, boat rides on the lake. Her favorite movie was Harry & the Hendersons. She named her cat Ripley from the movie Aliens. As a 4 year old preparing to enter preschool, she was diagnosed with Batten Disease. Those activities came to an end. She spent the last 5 years battling this rare, always fatal disease. Her blue eyes with her long braided hair touched everyone that she came in contact with.

Emily was preceded in death by her maternal great grandmother, Barbara Forman of Longview; maternal great great grandparents, Bill and Mary Nell Smith of Scurry; paternal great grandparents, Emily Joyce Baker of Woodlands and Marshall Joe Collins of Emory; paternal great great grandfather Bobby Ray
Gilbreath of Yantis.

She is survived by her mother and step father, Sarah Rae Collins and Tyrell McKinney, of Yantis; her baby brother, Brayden McKinney of Yantis; her grandparents, Lisa and Robert Collins of Yantis; great step-grandmother, Patty Collins of Arizona; great grandfather Bobby Wayne Gilbreath of Mesquite; great great grandmother Wanda Gilbreath of Yantis; Aunt Amanda Collins and cousin KaeLee Rae Green of Yantis; Uncle Branden Collins, Ft. Lejeuene , North Carolina; Aunt Koki Collins of Yantis; Great great Uncle Jerry Gilbreath of Yantis; many generations of aunts, uncles, cousins; her faithful dog, Sampson.

Funeral arrangements at Lowe Funeral Home in Quitman, with visitation Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Lake Fork Baptist Church in Alba, Friday February 19, 2016 at 2 p.m. Burial services following at Rock Hill Cemetery, Yantis.
