Drucilla Elois (Taylor) Zoch, age 93, passed away on August 25, 2025 at Mercer Terrace Assisted Living in Rowlett, TX after a 10-year struggle with Dementia and most recently congestive heart failure.
Dru was born in East Point Community, TX to C. Ray Taylor and Annie (Rogers) Taylor on Sep. 5, 1931. She was their only child. She graduated from Quitman High School (Class of 1948) in Quitman, TX. Dru attended watchmaker’s school at Bradley University in Peoria, IL with her dad. She moved to Dallas, TX, taking a job at Proctor & Gamble. She married J. Cecil (Bud) Zoch (whom she had met during their time at Bradley U. in the 50’s and kept in contact) on August 19, 1975 in Garland, TX. She subsequently joined Bud in the proprietorship of Zoch Jewelers in Mapleton, MN until their retirement in 1994. Upon retirement, and after the passing of C. Ray Taylor, Bud and Dru closed down Zoch Jewelers and moved to the Quitman area farm, formerly owned by C. Ray, which they named Snowbird Acres. There they ran an engraving and woodworking shop. Dru was definitely a “people person” and loved meeting and visiting with everyone with whom she came in contact. She was an unofficial ambassador for her Assisted Living facility and enjoyed interacting with residents and visitors. Dru was a 50-year member of Eastern Star in Quitman.
Dru is survived by her sons Vincent (Jeanne) and Kevin (Lynn) Zoch, grand-children Michael, Daniel, and Quinten (Kelly) Zoch, Alicia (Seth) Gebhard and Kayla (Bryan) Goodman.
Funeral service for Dru will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Faith Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest next to her husband following the service at Lee Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, September 2, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society.
