Donna Jean Hobbs

Donna Jean Hobbs, born on April 17,1956 in Sault Ste Marie, MI to Michael Caraccio and Donna Carraccio, passed away peacefully at home in Alba TX surrounded by family on May 29, 2020.  Donna fought a strong fight against cancer for over 10 months after her diagnosis.

Donna grew up with her parents, her brothers Michael and Mark Caraccio, and her sister Nancy Hackes in Hialeah,FL.  She later moved to East Texas and became a well known member of the community.  Most of the community knows her from her many years of working then later owning Golden Grocery.  Donna was smart, witty, funny, and generous and very accepting of all people.  Donna taught her children how to be respectful of others and how to love God.  There are so many things that she taught them and they hope to carry on her legacy by striving to be as kind and generous as she was. Donna loved family, especially her grandchildren.  Hse loved to garden, travel, and shop with coupons.

Donna is preceded in death by her father, Michael J. Caraccio, and her mother, Donna A. Caraccio.  She is survived by her husband, Dahrel Hobbs, children, Canaan Hobbs and his wife Melody and their children Ashlyn and Canaan; George Sheppard and his wife Holly; Sarah Williams and her husband Justin; Sarah Patberg and her husband Rick and children Skylar and Charlie.  She is also survived by her siblings Michael Caraccio and his wife Linda; Mark Caraccio and his wife Beth; Nancy Hackes and her husband David; along with many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

The family has decided to hold a memorial service for Donna in Alba in April of 2021.  Details will be given at a later date.  In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to a charity of your choice.
