Diana Tallant‑King, born February 18, 1954, in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, passed away peacefully after a long illness. Diana was known for her quick wit, warm humor, and the deep love she carried for her family, her animals, and the life she built with her husband, Bob King, whom she married in 1985.

Raised as an Army brat, Diana grew up with resilience and independence. She later worked for the FBI in Shreveport, Texas Eastman in Longview, and spent many years as a dedicated legal secretary in Dallas before retiring. She continued transcription work from home and volunteered with CASA in Dallas and Wood County. Diana was also an active member of First United Methodist Church of Quitman, serving in youth ministries, UM Army, and on the Joy Hall building committee.

Diana cherished her family and cared devotedly for her mother after her father’s passing. She had a strong sense of identity, a great sense of humor, and a deep affection for the many dogs, cats, and donkeys she raised over the years.

She is survived by her husband Bob King; daughters Debby Hampton (Kent), Melissa Hunter (Bert), and Shelley Scott (Troy); grandchildren Kaleigh Hampton, Ryan Hampton, Alexa Frowert, Willow Scott, Henry Hunter, and Robby Hunter; her mother Andrea Tallant; sister Kim Kinch (Tim); and nephew Troy Kinch. She is preceded in death by her father, Grady Tallant.

Diana will be remembered for her strength, her humor, her independence, and the love she gave so freely.
