Funeral services for Dee Hurley, 92, of Quitman, are scheduled for 2:30 PM Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home with Brother Fred Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30PM Sunday prior to the service.
Dee Hurley was born August 28, 1924 in Linden to Bob and Lizzie Crossland. In 1954 she moved to Wood County from Greggton, TX and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Quitman. She worked as a legal secretary for an attorney and a senator, and also was a self-employed farmer/rancher.
Dee passed away Thursday evening, October 20, 2016.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Orville Hurley of Quitman; son, Danny Hurley and wife Derrell Lynn of Yantis; three grandchildren, Sondra Hurley Smith of Caddo Mills, Todd Hurley of Yantis, and Cole Hurley of Quitman; six great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Todd Hurley, Cole Hurley, John Smith, Pecos Hurley, Dalton Smith, and Jacob Allen will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Stapleton, Dawson Glass, and John Powell.
