David E. Rodgers

David E. Rodgers passed away Thursday November 12, 2020 due to complications to COVID-19.

David was born in Dallas, Texas on March 8, 1941. He graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1959. David retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1999. He was a member of the Wood County Cowboy Church in Quitman. He officiated football on the High School-College level for over 30 years.

David is preceded in death by his parents James and Beatirce Rodgers and two brothers at a young age.

David is survived by his wife Linda; son Joel Rodgers; daughter Jennifer Mills; Grandson Carson Powers; and one brother Jim Rodgers.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.  

The family has requested that there be no flowers sent at this time but Donations can be made to honor David in his name at Wood County Cowboy Church 3435 FM 2088 Quitman, TX 75783.

David was a great man as well as sports fan. I always enjoyed talking to him. Were so sorry for Linda and familys loss. He will be missed.

This was such sad and unexpected news. Reneau and I send sincere condolences to Linda and her family. Quitman had lost a true fan for their youth.

David was my friend and fellow W3C Church member who had time to talk and share his knowledge and wisdom on life's tribulations. We always enjoyed our times with David and Linda thru our shared fellowship. I will miss our conversations and shared spiritual connections.

Lianna and i are sending our condolences and prayers fo entire Rodger's family at this mournful time.
