David Michael "Mike" Pennington

David Michael Pennington, known to his loved ones as "Mike," and to some as "Wheels" passed away on May 25, 2024, at his home in Greenville, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and cherished memories. He was born on July 5, 1980, in Mount Pleasant, Texas to David Ray Pennington and Melissa Farmer.

Mike graduated from Quitman High School in 1998. He possessed a thirst for knowledge, and later attended the Universal Technical Institution in Houston. His journey through life was marked by dedication and passion. He spent nearly a decade serving as a dispatcher for Homeland Transporting in Winnsboro before transitioning to a role in bookkeeping at Schultz Electric alongside his friend Craig.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mike found joy in various hobbies and interests. He enjoyed working on his Blazer, pouring his heart into every project he tackled. An avid fan of rock and country music, Mike's love for concerts brought him closer to the rhythms that resonated with his soul.

He is preceded in death by his father, David Ray Pennington; paternal grandfather, Bennie Pennington; and maternal grandparents, James Melvin Farmer and Linda Farmer.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved children, David Pennington and fiancé Avry Wood of Alba, and Bailey Pennington of Winnsboro; mother, Melissa Farmer of Conroe; wife, Crystal Pennington of Alba; sister, Samantha Pennington of Quitman; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Slayton of Chapel Hill; mother-in-law, Cyndy Reed; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.

Throughout his life, Mike's warm smile and compassionate spirit touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue to live on in the lives he has influenced and the hearts he has touched.

Rest peacefully now, Mike – your light will forever shine bright in our hearts.
